The Stanislaus Regional Housing Authority (Stanislaus Regional) is accepting applications for new Emergency Housing Vouchers (EHV). Funding is authorized by the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021 (ARPA). The ARPA allowed the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) to allocate vouchers to Stanislaus Regional.
Who is eligible to apply:
- Homeless; You do not have a fixed, regular or adequate nighttime residence. For instance, you sleep outside in a car or park, you live in a temporary shelter, you will lose your place in less than 14 days, or you are a homeless youth (under age 26).
- At-risk of homelessness; Your income is less than 30% of median income ($15,000 for one person or$26,500 for a family of four); you will have to move into a shelter without assistance; don’t have family or friends to move in with; have moved two or more times in the last 60 days; live in a motel/hotel; will lose your housing in 21 days.
- Fleeing, or attempting to flee domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault, stalking or human trafficking, or;
- Recently homeless and for whom providing rental assistance will prevent the family’s homelessness or having high risk of housing instability.
How to apply:
Housing provider participants in the Coordinated Entry System (CES) will determine whether an individual or family qualifies under one of the four eligibility categories mentioned above and provide verification and supporting documentation of that determination to the Stanislaus Regional Housing Authority.
Upon receipt of the referral from CES, Stanislaus Regional will make a determination of eligibility to receive housing assistance, if eligible, an EHV will be issued to the individual or family.
