Attention: Emergency Low Barrier Shelter Operators

Stanislaus County is embarking on a unique and powerful partnership to bring hope and change to those at risk or experiencing homelessness in Stanislaus County. Through a collaboration of private and public partners and funding sources, plans are underway to open and operate an Emergency Low Barrier Shelter for a two-year period in Modesto. As part of the community wide Focus on Prevention initiative, this Immediate Action Plan will bring relief now to the serious condition of homelessness while we work toward a Permanent Access Center.

The mission of this entire effort is:
Through Dignity and Respect Empowering People at Risk or Experiencing Homelessness Toward a Hopeful and Independent Life

At any given time throughout the year, there are roughly 1,300 individuals in our County experiencing homelessness. This effort is real and will be accomplished this year through a partnership including the Stanislaus Community System of Care, United Way of Stanislaus County, a private community foundation and in collaboration with the County of Stanislaus.

While the project is in the final stages of site and facility planning, we are currently seeking a highly qualified homeless shelter operator to complete this unique Private-Public Partnership. Please click the button below for the complete Request for Qualifications and application process.

We hope that you consider becoming part of this collaboration.
