CSOC Update- November 2018

The HEAP Funding & CSOC Restructuring Workgroup with assistance from HomeBase met on November 26, 2018. The following items were completed and will be presented to CSOC Leadership during a special session scheduled for December 4, 2018. Pending endorsement, these items will be presented to the Stanislaus County Board of Supervisors by December 18, 2018.

1. Initial proposal for HEAP Funding
Provide a recommendation to CSOC for funding allocation HEAP Funding proposal includes recommendations for 7.2 million dollars in funding for the following eligible activities; services, rental assistance or subsidies, capital improvements and youth services.

a. Submission of the HEAP application to the state of California must be completed by December 31, 2018.
b. Shelter crisis declaration(s) in jurisdictions that will receive funding for projects will be included in the application.

2. Proposal for CSOC Governance Structure

a. The Workgroup completed a governance structure proposal including membership.  If endorsed, the leadership structure would serve as the central governing body for developing vision, strategy, funding allocations, and data and outcomes reporting on homelessness efforts throughout Stanislaus County.
